Sending Within Thailand

• standard mail = 3 to 5 THB
• EMS (registered / faster delivery) = 30 THB

• the Thai Post has the equivalent of money orders, which can be cashed at a Thai post office by the designated recipient
• Most Thai post offices also function as Western Union branches
  
• If you need to send money by mail, it's safer to buy a money order and send that

Sending Beyond Thailand

• Depending on weight and whether you ship by surface or air, this will easily be at least a thousand baht. If you insist on trying the cheaper 2nd class rates, beware: it could take areally long time for your package to reach America.
• The cheapest way is by surface (ship). It might take 2 months or so, but if you're not in a rush, the savings might be worth it.
• If sending a lot, put it all in one (1) box, even if it's heavy. Breaking the shipment into multiple smaller, lighter boxes will actually be a lot more expensive! This is because the rates get cheaper when you have more weight. Since the discounts are on a box-by-box basis, many lighter boxes will have a higher rate than one big, heavy box.
